Through didactic lectures and interactive sessions, the presentation and management of pediatric
patients with medical and surgical emergencies will be taught in this intensive three‑day
course. Keynote lectures will focus on the “must knows” about life‑threatening neurologic
events, head and C‑spine trauma, and orthopedic emergencies. Small group interactive sessions
will highlight procedural sedation, interpretation of urgent diagnostic radiology, and
acute respiratory cases. Hands‑on workshops allow participants to practice airway management
(including laryngeal mask airways), simulation resuscitation, and vascular access.
Pediatric surgeons will give individualized teaching on suturing, tissue adhesive, and
casting/splinting techniques.
OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this program, participants will:
